Helping Hands

The Challenge:

Helping Hands is an online educational platform that supports the mental health of young Australians. In the wake of the pandemic, many young adults experienced increased isolation and declining well-being. With this in mind, Helping Hands sought a modern, distinctive brand identity that clearly communicated the platform’s mission to foster social connection and a deeper connection with nature.

The Solution:

The platform’s mission was brought to life through the design concept of Hands & Human Touch. It features illustrations of different hand gestures and interactions, such as high-fives, handshakes, and watering plants. Together these visuals celebrate the simple acts of connection that were lost during the pandemic and show how our hands physically connect us to each other and to the natural world. An earthy, friendly, and subdued colour palette complements the concept, reflecting the platform’s connection to nature, its young audience, and its mature themes.

Brand Activation (Collaborative event)

For the brand launch for helping Hands, they hosted a fundraiser event for mental health support. Helping Hands collaborated with Pears on Pottery (i.e. a ceramic painting pottery studio). At the event, attendees painted their own pot plant while socialising with others.
To conclude the event, all attendees were gifted an official pair of branded gardening gloves — as a reminder to continue practicing mindfulness and connecting with nature.
